Instructions
- Instructions
- Gather Your Ingredients:
- First things first, get everything ready! You’ll need whiskey, fresh lemons for juice, maple syrup, cinnamon, and ice. Having everything out makes the process smoother and more fun.
- Juice the Lemons:
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice is the key here! Cut your lemon in half and squeeze out the juice into a measuring cup. Aim for about 1 ounce of juice. You can use a citrus juicer to make this easier and get the most juice out.
- Combine Ingredients in a Shaker:
- In a cocktail shaker, pour in 2 oz of whiskey, 1 oz of fresh lemon juice, ¾ oz of pure maple syrup, and ½ tsp of ground cinnamon. If you like your drinks a bit sweeter, feel free to adjust the maple syrup to your taste.
- Shake It Up:
- Add ice to the shaker until it’s about halfway full. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. This step chills the cocktail and combines all the flavors beautifully.
- Strain and Serve:
- If you prefer a smooth drink, strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. If you don’t mind the little bits of cinnamon, you can pour it straight in.
- Garnish and Enjoy:
- Garnish your Cinnamon Maple Whiskey Sour with a lemon wheel or a cinnamon stick for that extra flair. Take a moment to enjoy the aroma before diving in!
- Variations
- Spicy Maple Whiskey Sour: Add a dash of cayenne pepper or a slice of fresh jalapeño for some heat.
- Apple Cinnamon Whiskey Sour: Substitute the lemon juice with apple cider for a fall twist.
- Mocktail Version: Replace whiskey with a non-alcoholic whiskey alternative or a splash of sparkling apple cider for a refreshing, alcohol-free drink.
