Frozen Strawberry Sangria Recipe
Frozen Strawberry Sangria
Equipment
- Equipment Needed: Blender, measuring cups, large pitcher, and serving glasses
Ingredients
- Ingredients
- 1 bottle of dry red wine 750ml, like Merlot or Pinot Noir
- 1 cup of strawberry vodka or regular vodka for less sweetness
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries sliced, plus more for garnish
- 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice about 2 limes
- 1/4 cup of orange juice freshly squeezed is best
- 1 cup of soda water or lemon-lime soda for a sweeter option
- 1-2 tablespoons of sugar or simple syrup optional, adjust based on sweetness preference
- Ice cubes for blending
Instructions
- Method
- Prepare the Strawberries:
- Rinse the fresh strawberries thoroughly under cold water. Remove the stems and slice them in half.
- Blend the Ingredients:
- In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries, red wine, strawberry vodka, lime juice, orange juice, and sugar (if using).
- Add a handful of ice cubes (about 1-2 cups, depending on how slushy you want it).
- Blend Until Smooth:
- Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. You can add more ice if you prefer a thicker consistency.
- Mix with Soda Water:
- Pour the blended mixture into a large pitcher. Gently stir in the soda water for a refreshing fizz.
- Chill (Optional):
- If you have time, let the sangria chill in the refrigerator for about an hour to meld the flavors.
- Serve:
- Pour the Frozen Strawberry Sangria into glasses. Garnish with additional strawberry slices or a sprig of mint for an extra touch.
- Variations
- White Sangria: Swap the red wine for a bottle of white wine (like Sauvignon Blanc) for a lighter version.
- Berry Medley: Use a mix of berries such as raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries for a vibrant twist.
- Non-Alcoholic Version: Replace the wine and vodka with grape juice or sparkling grape juice for a family-friendly option.
- Herbal Twist: Add fresh herbs like mint or basil for an aromatic flavor.
