- Step 1: Make the Ginger Syrup
- Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and sliced ginger.
- Heat Mixture: Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Infuse Ginger: Allow it to simmer for about 10 minutes. This helps extract the ginger flavor.
- Cool and Strain: Remove from heat and let it cool. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove the ginger pieces. Store any leftover syrup in the fridge for up to two weeks.
- Step 2: Mix the Cocktail
- Chill the Glasses: If desired, chill your martini glasses by filling them with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.
- Combine Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, add vodka, fresh lemon juice, and ginger syrup.
- Shake It Up: Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
