Pineapple Cilantro Margarita Recipe
Pineapple Cilantro Margarita
Equipment
- Equipment Needed:
- Cocktail shaker
- Jigger (or measuring cup)
- Muddler or spoon
- Strainer (optional)
- Glasses for serving
Ingredients
- Ingredients
- For the Cocktail:
- 2 oz tequila preferably 100% agave
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz fresh pineapple juice
- 0.5 oz agave syrup adjust to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- Lime wedges and extra cilantro for garnish
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Method
- Muddle the Cilantro:
- In your cocktail shaker, add the fresh cilantro leaves. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press the cilantro to release its essential oils. Be careful not to over-muddle, as this can make the drink taste bitter.
- Mix Ingredients:
- Add the tequila, lime juice, pineapple juice, and agave syrup to the shaker with the muddled cilantro.
- Shake it Up:
- Fill the shaker with ice cubes, cover it tightly, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. This will mix all the flavors together and chill the drink.
- Strain and Serve:
- If you prefer a smoother drink, strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice. If you like it a bit rustic, you can pour it directly from the shaker.
- Garnish:
- Garnish with lime wedges and a sprig of cilantro for an extra touch of freshness.
- Variations
- Spicy Pineapple Cilantro Margarita: Add a slice of jalapeño during muddling for a spicy kick.
- Coconut Pineapple Cilantro Margarita: Replace half of the tequila with coconut rum for a tropical twist.
- Frozen Version: Blend all the ingredients with ice for a refreshing frozen margarita.
