Equipment

  • Equipment Needed:
  • Medium saucepan
  • Measuring cups
  • Jigger or shot glass
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer
  • Glasses for serving

Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • For the Blueberry Syrup:
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • For the Cocktail:
  • 2 ounces vodka your choice
  • 3 ounces lemonade store-bought or homemade
  • 1 ounce blueberry syrup from above
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh blueberries and lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Method: Creating the Blueberry Lemonade Vodka
  • Make the Blueberry Syrup:
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the blueberries, sugar, and water.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved and the blueberries start to burst (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
  • Let the syrup cool for about 5 minutes before straining it into a jar or bowl. Press the mixture through a strainer to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
  • Mix the Cocktail:
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  • Pour in the vodka, lemonade, and the prepared blueberry syrup.
  • Shake well until the mixture is chilled (about 15-20 seconds).
  • Serve:
  • Fill glasses with ice cubes and strain the cocktail mixture into each glass.
  • Garnish with fresh blueberries and a slice of lemon.
  • Enjoy!
  • Variations
  • Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade Vodka: Replace regular lemonade with sparkling lemonade or soda for a fizzy twist!
  • Herbal Infusion: Add a few fresh mint leaves to the shaker for a refreshing herbal flavor.
  • Non-Alcoholic Version: Omit the vodka and use sparkling water or lemonade for a delightful mocktail.
  • Tips and Substitutions
  • Dietary Needs: For a sugar-free version, use a sugar substitute like stevia or monk fruit in the blueberry syrup.
  • Fruit Alternatives: Feel free to use raspberries or strawberries in place of blueberries for a different flavor profile.
  • Lemonade Options: If you’re short on time, using store-bought lemonade works perfectly, but making fresh lemonade from scratch gives a delightful homemade taste.
