Instructions
Step 1: Muddle the Blueberries and Mint
In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh blueberries and mint leaves.
Using a muddler, gently crush the blueberries and mint together. This releases the flavors, so be careful not to over-muddle. You want to bruise the mint, not shred it.
Step 2: Add the Liquids
Pour in the vodka, simple syrup, and fresh lime juice. The lime juice adds a nice tartness that balances the sweetness of the blueberries and syrup.
Step 3: Shake It Up
Fill the shaker with ice, then secure the lid.
Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. You want to chill the mixture thoroughly while mixing the flavors.
Step 4: Strain and Serve
Using a strainer, pour the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with a few whole blueberries and a sprig of mint for a beautiful presentation.
Variations
Blueberry Mint Mocktail: Substitute the vodka with sparkling water for a non-alcoholic version that still delivers on flavor.
Different Fruits: Swap blueberries for raspberries or strawberries for a fun twist.
Herb Alternatives: Basil can be a fantastic substitute for mint if you're looking for a different flavor profile.
