Method
Step 1: Prepare the Peaches
If you’re using fresh peaches, wash them thoroughly and slice them into wedges. If they're ripe enough, you can easily remove the pit by cutting around it.
Step 2: Muddle the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add the peach slices and simple syrup. Using a muddler (or the back of a spoon), gently press down on the peaches to release their juices. Be careful not to pulverize them completely; you want some texture in your drink!
Step 3: Add the Remaining Ingredients
Next, add the bourbon and fresh lemon juice to the shaker.
Step 4: Shake It Up
Fill the shaker with ice cubes and secure the lid. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well mixed and chilled.
Step 5: Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice. For an extra touch, you can double strain it using a fine mesh strainer to catch any peach pulp.
Step 6: Garnish and Enjoy
Garnish with a few mint leaves. If you’re feeling fancy, you can also add a peach slice on the rim of the glass.
