Equipment

  • Equipment Needed:
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring spoon
  • Strainer
  • Highball or Collins glass
  • Spoon for stirring

Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 2 ounces gin or vodka for a milder flavor
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice about half a lemon
  • 1 ounce peach puree fresh or canned
  • 1/2 ounce ginger syrup store-bought or homemade
  • Club soda to top
  • Peach slices and mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Method
  • Make the Peach Puree:
  • If using fresh peaches, peel and chop one ripe peach. Blend it until smooth in a blender. If you prefer, you can use canned peach slices; just make sure they're packed in juice and not syrup.
  • Prepare the Ginger Syrup:
  • To make ginger syrup at home, combine equal parts water and sugar (1 cup each) in a saucepan. Add a few slices of fresh ginger and simmer on low for about 10-15 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Strain and let it cool. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  • Mix the Cocktail:
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine gin (or vodka), lemon juice, peach puree, and ginger syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain and Serve:
  • Strain the mixture into a highball or Collins glass filled with ice. Top with club soda to add some fizz.
  • Garnish:
  • Garnish with fresh peach slices and a sprig of mint for a pop of color and freshness.
  • Variations
  • Non-Alcoholic Version: Substitute gin or vodka with sparkling water for a refreshing mocktail.
  • Flavored Gin: Use peach or ginger-flavored gin for an extra kick of flavor.
  • Herbal Twist: Add a few basil or thyme leaves in the shaker for a unique herbal touch.
  • Spicy Version: Mix in a dash of hot sauce or muddle jalapeƱos for a spicy kick.
