Prepare the Ginger Infusion:
In a small bowl, combine the grated ginger and pear juice. If you’re using honey or agave, add it here too.
Let this mixture sit for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Juice the Lemon:
While the ginger and pear mixture is infusing, squeeze the juice from a fresh lemon. This will add a nice tartness that balances the sweetness of the pear.
Shake It Up:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain the ginger-pear mixture into the shaker along with the lemon juice.
Shake well until chilled.
Serve:
Fill two champagne flutes or glasses halfway with the ginger-pear mixture.
Top with sparkling water or club soda, giving it a gentle stir to mix.
Garnish:
Add pear slices and a sprig of fresh mint to each glass for a lovely presentation.
Variations
Spicy Twist: Add a slice of jalapeño for a spicy kick!
Herbal Note: Include a few fresh basil or thyme leaves in the shaker before mixing.
