Equipment

  • Equipment Needed: Cocktail shaker, jigger, fine strainer, martini glass, muddler (optional)

Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 2 oz pear vodka you can substitute with regular vodka if preferred
  • 1 oz fresh pear juice about half a ripe pear
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup adjust for sweetness
  • 1 sprig of fresh thyme plus extra for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Method
  • Prepare the Pear Juice: Start by juicing a ripe pear. If you don’t have a juicer, simply blend the pear and strain it through a fine mesh sieve to get a smooth juice.
  • Combine Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine the pear vodka, fresh pear juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, and the thyme sprig.
  • Add Ice: Fill the shaker with ice cubes, making sure to pack it well. This helps chill the cocktail thoroughly.
  • Shake It Up: Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. You want it to be well-chilled.
  • Strain and Serve: Using a fine strainer, pour the mixture into a chilled martini glass. This will help remove any thyme bits and ice.
  • Garnish: Add a sprig of fresh thyme to the drink for a beautiful presentation and an extra hint of aroma.
  • Enjoy: Sip slowly and enjoy the refreshing blend of pear and thyme!
  • Variations
  • Herb Variations: Try substituting thyme with rosemary or basil for a different herbal note.
  • Fruit Variations: Add a splash of cranberry juice or substitute with apple juice for a different flavor profile.
  • Sparkling Twist: Top with a splash of soda water or prosecco for a bubbly version.
