Method
Muddle the Rosemary: In a copper mug or glass, add the fresh rosemary sprig. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the rosemary. This releases its fragrant oils and flavors. Be careful not to over-muddle; you want the essence, not bits of leaves floating in your drink.
Add the Liquids: Pour in the vodka (or gin), pineapple juice, and lime juice over the muddled rosemary. If you’re using a cocktail shaker, you can combine these ingredients there for a more chilled drink.
Add Ice: Fill the mug or glass with ice cubes. This will help to chill the drink and keep it refreshing.
Top with Ginger Beer: Pour the ginger beer over the ice and stir gently to combine all the ingredients. This helps maintain the carbonation.
Garnish: Finally, garnish with an additional sprig of rosemary and a lime wheel or pineapple wedge on the rim for a lovely presentation.
Serve and Enjoy: Give it a little stir, and enjoy your Pineapple Rosemary Mule!
Variations
Mocktail Version: Omit the vodka and increase the pineapple juice and ginger beer for a refreshing non-alcoholic drink.
Herbal Twist: Substitute gin for vodka and add other herbs like basil or mint for different flavor profiles.
Spicy Kick: Add a few slices of jalapeño for a spicy version of the Mule.
