Method
Prepare the Ingredients: Gather all ingredients and equipment. If you’re using an egg white, make sure it’s fresh.
Shake the Ingredients:
In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, fresh lemon juice, rose syrup, and egg white (if using).
If you’re using egg white, do a dry shake first (no ice) to emulsify it for about 15 seconds.
Add Ice: Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously for another 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.
Strain: Using a strainer, pour the mixture into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
Garnish: Add edible rose petals on top for a beautiful presentation.
Variations
Rose Lemon Vodka Sour: Substitute gin with vodka for a different flavor profile.
Herbal Twist: Add a few fresh mint or basil leaves while shaking for an aromatic twist.
Sparkling Version: Top off with club soda or sparkling water for a refreshing spritz.
Non-Alcoholic Option: Replace gin with sparkling water and add a bit more rose syrup to enhance the flavor.
Tips and Substitutions
For a Vegan Option: Skip the egg white or use aquafaba (the liquid from canned chickpeas) as a substitute to achieve a similar frothy texture.
Sweetness Level: Adjust the amount of rose syrup based on your sweetness preference; you can also use a sugar substitute if desired.
Freshness Matters: Always use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best flavor.
