Method
Step 1: Make the Lavender Syrup
Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and the dried lavender.
Heat: Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
Simmer: Once it’s boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
Infuse: Remove from heat and let the mixture sit for 30 minutes to allow the lavender to infuse its flavor.
Strain: Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a jar, discarding the lavender. Stir in the lemon juice.
Step 2: Prepare the Lemonade
Mix Lemon Juice and Syrup: In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and lavender syrup.
Add Sparkling Water: Slowly pour in the sparkling water, gently stirring to mix.
Chill: Serve over ice in glasses and garnish with lavender sprigs and lemon slices if desired.
Variations
Non-Alcoholic Version: Simply skip the additional spirits for a delightful, refreshing mocktail.
Alcoholic Twist: Add 1-2 ounces of gin or vodka for an adult version. The floral notes of gin pair beautifully with the lavender!
Herbal Infusion: Consider adding fresh mint leaves or basil for an extra layer of flavor.
