Instructions
Prepare the Glass:
If you like a salted rim, rub a grapefruit wedge around the edge of your glass and then dip it in coarse salt. Set aside.
Muddle the Jalapeño:
In a cocktail shaker, add the jalapeño slices. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently muddle the jalapeño to release its flavor. If you prefer a milder spice, use only one slice or remove the seeds.
Mix the Ingredients:
Add the fresh grapefruit juice, lime juice, tequila, and agave syrup to the shaker. Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
Shake It Up:
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
Strain and Serve:
Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with ice. If you prefer your margarita straight up, you can strain it into a chilled glass without ice.
Garnish:
Top with a grapefruit wedge and a slice of jalapeño for a pop of color.
Enjoy!
