Equipment

  • Equipment Needed:
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer
  • Jigger or measuring spoon
  • Martini glass
  • Muddler (optional)

Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh strawberry puree about 2-3 strawberries
  • 1/2 oz balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup or to taste
  • Fresh strawberries and basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Strawberry Puree:
  • Start by washing 2-3 ripe strawberries. Remove the stems and place them in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. If you prefer a chunkier texture, you can also muddle the strawberries in a bowl using a muddler.
  • Mix the Ingredients:
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of vodka, 1 oz of fresh strawberry puree, 1/2 oz of balsamic vinegar, and 1/2 oz of simple syrup. The balsamic vinegar adds a surprising depth, so don’t skip it!
  • Shake It Up:
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This chills the mixture and combines the flavors well.
  • Strain and Serve:
  • Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
  • Garnish:
  • Garnish with a fresh strawberry and a basil leaf for a pop of color and an aromatic touch.
  • Enjoy!
  • Sip slowly and savor the blend of flavors!
  • Variations
  • Fruity Twist: Substitute the strawberries with other fruits like raspberries or peaches for different flavor profiles.
  • Herbal Infusion: Add a hint of fresh mint or basil into the shaker for an herbal note.
  • Sparkling Version: Top with a splash of sparkling water or prosecco for a bubbly cocktail.
