Instructions
Muddle the Ingredients:
In a sturdy glass, add the tangerine segments, mint leaves, and sugar (or simple syrup). Using a muddler, gently press down on the mint and tangerines to release their juices. Be careful not to shred the mint leaves too much; just enough to release the oils.
Add the Liquids:
Pour in the white rum and lime juice. Stir the mixture gently to combine all the flavors.
Fill with Ice:
Add ice cubes to the glass, filling it about three-quarters full.
Top with Club Soda:
Pour club soda over the ice until the glass is nearly full. Use a spoon to give it a gentle stir.
Garnish and Serve:
Garnish your Tangerine Mojito with a sprig of mint and a slice of tangerine on the rim of the glass. Enjoy.
Variations
Non-Alcoholic Version: For a mocktail, simply omit the rum and use additional club soda or a splash of orange juice for a refreshing twist.
Fruit Variations: Feel free to substitute tangerines with other citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruits, or even lemons for a different flavor profile.
Herb Alternatives: Basil or cilantro can be used instead of mint for an intriguing twist on the classic mojito.
