Equipment

  • Equipment Needed:
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Strainer
  • Glasses (highball or cocktail glasses)
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • For the Cocktail:
  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • 2 oz coconut rum or a non-alcoholic coconut-flavored syrup for a mocktail
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed for best flavor
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh fruit slices like pineapple or orange for garnish
  • Optional: a splash of grenadine for color

Instructions

  • Method
  • Prepare Your Ingredients: Gather all your ingredients and measure them out. Freshly squeezed lime juice makes a big difference in flavor, so if you can, go for it!
  • Mix the Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine the pineapple juice, coconut rum, orange juice, and lime juice. If you’re using grenadine, add it now for a beautiful color gradient.
  • Shake it Up: Fill the shaker with ice cubes, put the lid on securely, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. You want the drink to be well-chilled.
  • Strain and Serve: Fill your glasses with fresh ice cubes. Strain the mixture from the shaker into the glasses, filling them about three-quarters full.
  • Garnish: Top each drink with a fresh fruit slice or a cherry. If you added grenadine, you’ll see a lovely sunset effect in your drink!
  • Enjoy: Take a moment to appreciate your creation before diving in!
  • Variations
  • Non-Alcoholic Tropical Breeze: Swap out the coconut rum for coconut-flavored syrup and omit the alcohol for a refreshing mocktail.
  • Fruity Twist: Add a splash of mango puree or passion fruit juice to enhance the tropical flavor.
  • Spicy Kick: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a slice of jalapeño to the shaker for a spicy version.
